DOUBLE HEADER LIKE DAY & NIGHT
Cyclones stifled in the opener of
double header, offense explodes in the night cap
Mar 23, 2026 - For the first time in 7
seasons, the Northside Rangers finally have defeated the
Houston Cyclones. The defeated them with good hitting, good
pitching and good defense. The Rangers have dramatically
improved and it showed in their first match up against the
Cyclones this season. A close game for the first 3 innings,
Cyclones starting pitcher Dean Cosme faltered in the 4th as
the Rangers knocked Cosme around for 6 runs in the inning to
take a 9-2 lead over the Cyclones and did not relent from
there. The Rangers would tack on 4 more runs to finish the
day with a 13-5 victory of the Cyclones, who had lost 2
games to begin the season for the first time in 9 seasons.
In the nightcap, it was a completely polar
opposite experience as the Cyclones took on their long time
rivals the Marauders and while historically both teams
typically play each well, on this day, things did not go the
way of the swash bucklers. Dazed and confused from the first
game, the Cyclones bats woke up in game 2 to the tune of 12
runs on 5 hits and 7 walks, sending 16 batters to the plate
in the first inning alone. Overall, the Cyclones scored 17
runs on 16 hits and 8 walks defeating the Marauders 17-5 to
get their first W of the season.
