Diablos Take Advantage Of Cyclones, Win 10-4

Oct 7, 2015 - After an offensive explosion the night before, the Spring Cyclones decided that games on back-to-back nights were a little too much for them as the defense played as if they were made of Swiss cheese.  the fact that starting Pitcher Dean Cosme allowed 8 runs but only 1 was earned should be enough to tell the whole story.

Cyclones Strike Down Thunder 9-6

Sept 23, 2015 - In what might have been their best played game of the season, the Spring Cyclones stymied the Spring  2015 Champion Texas Thunder in their first meeting since the Spring playoffs.  Mgr. Dean Cosme started for the Cyclones and one of his strongest pitching performances in several seasons holding the Thunder to 3 runs (1 ER) on 4 hits over 4-2/3 innings.  Kristian Bell came in to relieve Cosme and while he escaped Cosme's trouble in the 5th, he stumbled slightly in the 7th, allowing the Thunder to get within a run before finally handing the game over to newcomer Adrian Martin to close it out.

Offensively, the Cyclones were led by Andy Perez and Dean Cosme who had 5 hit and 5 RBI combined. Also adding to the hit parade were Beau Bedford and Steve Herce with a couple of hits and runs scored each.

Drillers Nail Cyclones 9-3

Aug 31, 2015 - There is a sense of optimism that surrounds the Spring Cyclones this season. Whether is the abundance of arms on the roster or the extra "bats" that were picked up in the offseason.  Either way, the tea feels good about itself.  Unfortunately, the good feelings were put on hold against the South Houston Drillers on Sunday.

Manager and starting pitcher Dean Cosme started the game off auspiciously by plunking the first batter with the first pitch.  Luckily, he didn't score, but it would be a sign of things to come as Cosme weaved in and out of trouble for the first 3 innings.  In the 4th, it came crashing down as the bloop parade came to town and before anyone knew it, it was 4-0 Drillers.  Cosme would settle down again, but a few innings later, Cosme's own error lead the Drillers to plate another 4 runs.

Conversely, the Driller held the Cyclones scoreless until they switched out their starting pitcher. The offensive highlight of the day was provided by Gabe Medina who smacked a 2-run HR over the left-centerfield fence for the Cyclones.

Aug 25, 2015 - An unexpected pitcher's duel emerged Monday night between the Cyclones and Colt 45's.  After a shaky first inning that saw the Cyclones plate 2 runs against the Colt 45's, things settled down and both teams began dealing zeros. In the bottom of the 8th inning, the Colt 45's, down to their last out and last strike, scored 3 runs to come from behind and defeat the Spring Cyclones 4-2.

CTL-ALT-DEL: Rebooted Cyclones Club 30+ Panthers

Aug 8, 2015 - The Fall 2015 Season got off to a successful start for the rebooted Spring Cyclones.  After a tumultuous Spring 2015 season that saw the Cyclones morph into the Houston Cardinals for 1 season, the Cyclones reformed, regrouped and returned to their winning ways as they clobbered the 30+ Panthers 16-8 on Friday night at Mason's Park in SE Houston.

Mgr Dean Cosme took the mound for the Cyclones and he was vintage.  Cosme hurled 6 innings allowed 3 runs (0 earned) on 4 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 2.  It was sweet redemption for Cosme as he struggled mightily in the Spring for a variety of reasons but was determined to get off to a fast start for the Cyclones.

Offensively, the Cyclones were lead by veterans Andy Perez (3-3, 1 2B, 1 BB, 3 R, 1 RBI), Mark "Stickers" MacDowell (3-4, 3 R, 1 K), newcomer Steve Herce (3-3, 2 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI) and the return of Kory Winters (2-4, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 R, 2 RBI). The rest of the offense was also productive with everyone driving in at least 1 run or scoring at least 1 run.
